When Lance Armstrong called us near the end of 2016 we were ecstatic. He had a vision to create a challenging 100-mile ride through the Texas Hill Country that would capture people's imagination and promote the spirit of adventure that is at the root of his latest endeavor, WEDŪ SPORT.
Holland Special Events went to work on finding a venue and creating a route that would stand apart from other road rides. Upon riding the course Lance said it was, "the best route in Texas," and thus; the Texas Hūndred was born.
Staged at Reveille Peak Ranch this 100-mile ride winds it's way around Lake Buchanan with rolling hills and big views throughout Burnet, Llano, San Saba, and Lampasas counties.
Holland Special Events managed the following aspects of this event: course design, rest stops, insurance, county permitting, TXDOT permitting, signage plans, venue rental, venue parking, food and beer vendors, live music, staging and sound, online registration, packet pick up, the booking of professional services, contract services, equipment rentals, creating and handling the event budget, working with land owners along the course, volunteer recruitment and scheduling, staffing, set up and tear down.
The first iteration of this event was a success. The 2018 version will be even better. We're proud to be a part of the Texas Hundred and hope you'll join Lance and the WEDU crew April 14, 2018. Info here. Online Registration here.
