With it's over 20 year history, the La Primavera road races at Lago Vista are an icon on the Texas road racing calendar. No other competitive cycling event in Texas has stood the test of time like La Primavera. For 2018 Holland Special Events will oversee online registration, packet pick up, coordinating both start lists and results with race officials. Check back soon for more info.
In the Spring of 2017 we helped Circuit of the Americas create and manage "Bike Night." This non-competitive community oriented fun ride ran weekly on Tuesday evenings over 14 week, April-June. The series surpassed everyone's expectations, attracting over 800 riders per week.
The folks at Race Across America (RAAM) brought the Texas Challenge to Marble Falls in 2012. This ultra marathon event offered both 400 and 200 mile races. In the Fall of 2017, Fred Boethling, owner of the race, contracted Holland Special Events to redesign the course for 2018. The goal was to create a longer course (~500-530 miles) utilizing the existing start/finish line in Marble Falls. The new route had to stay true to the spirit and genesis of this event...
When Lance Armstrong called us near the end of 2016 we were ecstatic. He had a vision to create a challenging 100-mile ride through the Texas Hill Country that would capture people's imagination and promote the spirit of adventure that is at the root of his latest endeavor, WEDŪ SPORT. Holland Special Events went to work on finding a venue and creating a route that would stand apart from other road rides. Upon riding the course Lance said it was, "the best route in Texas," and thus; the Texas Hūndred was born.
Holland Special Events is proud to be managing the 13th annual Real Ale Ride. This cycling community staple offers a variety of routes and distances for cyclists of all ability levels. Starting and finishing at the legendary Real Ale Brewery in Blanco, TX this event rides through the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Holland Special Events will be working with county and city officials, TXDOT, landowners along the route, the brewery, Bicycle Sport Shop, as well as a variety of organizations and vendors to make this event a fun, safe affair for the nearly 2,000 riders who attend it annually.
